Referring to its links with Russia, local authorities in different regions of Ukraine have decided to ban the activities of the UOC, and a draft law on its effective ban in Ukraine has been submitted to the country’s parliament. State sanctions were imposed on some representatives of the UOC clergy, the SBU began to initiate criminal proceedings against the UOC clergy, to conduct searches in the homes of bishops and priests, in churches and monasteries, looking for evidence of “anti-Ukrainian activities”.
