Voter turnout in elections for deputies to the Majilis (lower house of parliament) and maslikhats (local representative bodies) of Kazakhstan as of 10:00 a.m. Astana time (07:00 a.m. Moscow time) was 14.21 percent, a member of the Central Election Commission of the Shavkhat Utemisov republic. In the elections of January 10, 2021, the turnout at this time was 11.6%. “According to data provided by the regional commissions, cities of republican importance and the capital, at 10:00 a.m. on March 19, 2023, 14.21% of the total number of citizens registered on the lists received ballot papers,” said said Utemisov during a briefing. Early legislative and local elections are taking place in Kazakhstan on March 19. The Central Election Commission registered the lists of the seven political parties registered in the republic.
