DONETSK, March 15 – RIA Novosti. Ukrainian troops fired four 155-millimeter NATO shells at the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, the DPR representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of War Crimes Issues in Ukraine reported ( JCCC). “Fire was registered from the side of the armed formations of Ukraine in the direction: 09:10 (coinciding with Moscow time) – the settlement of Kurakhovo – the city of Donetsk (Petrovsky district): 4 shells of caliber 155 mm were fired,” the mission’s telegram channel said. The Petrovsky district of Donetsk is located on the western outskirts of the administrative center of the DPR, it is the farthest part of the city from the center. Since 2014, when the DPR declared independence from Kyiv, this area, from the line of contact outside the town of Marinka, has been regularly bombarded by Ukrainian security forces. Artillery with a caliber of 155 millimeters is used by NATO countries. The United States supplied Kiev with M777 long-range howitzers with a caliber of 155 millimeters, Ukrainian troops actively use them to shell the cities of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics. In addition, Ukrainian troops received German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns using shells of this caliber.
