DONETSK, March 18 – RIA Novosti. Ukrainian troops fired four 155-millimeter “NATO” caliber shells at 6.15 p.m. in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, the DPR’s representative office reported to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Matters Related to Crimes of War in Ukraine (JCCC). “A fire was recorded from the VFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine – ed.) in the direction: 6:15 p.m. – the settlement of Kurakhovo – the city of Donetsk (Petrovsky district): four shells with a caliber of 155 millimeters burned been fired,” the representative office said in a telegram channel. The Petrovsky district of Donetsk is located on the western outskirts of the administrative center of the DPR, it is the farthest part of the city from the center. Since 2014, when the DPR declared independence from Kyiv, this area, from the line of contact outside the town of Marinka, has been regularly bombarded by Ukrainian security forces. Artillery with a caliber of 155 millimeters is used by NATO countries. The United States supplied Kiev with M777 long-range howitzers with a caliber of 155 millimeters, Ukrainian troops actively use them to shell the cities of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics.
