DONETSK, April 8 – RIA Novosti. Ukrainian troops fired five 155-millimeter “NATO” caliber shells at Kievsky district in Donetsk at 11:15 p.m., reported the DPR’s representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Crimes War in Ukraine (JCCC). “A fire was recorded from the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces of Ukraine – ed.) in the direction: 23.15 – the settlement of Orlovka – the city of Donetsk (Kyevsky district): five shells of caliber 155 mm were fired,” the representative office said in a Telegram channel. The kyiv district of Donetsk is located in the northern part of the city. 155 mm caliber artillery is used by NATO countries. The United States supplied Kiev with M777 long-range howitzers of 155 mm caliber, Ukrainian troops are actively using them to shell the cities of the people’s republics of Donetsk and Luhansk. In addition, Ukrainian troops received German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns using shells of this caliber.
