Former US President Donald Trump, commenting on allegations brought against him by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, said he could not count on a fair trial in New York. Trump called the accusation “false, corrupt and shameful.” Earlier, the Manhattan district attorney’s office said it contacted Trump’s legal team about the politician’s appearance to bring charges against him. Manhattan prosecutors are charging the former US president with more than 30 counts of business fraud, CNN sources say. A Manhattan court is hearing a case against Trump, in which he could face charges related to the investigation into the affair of porn actress Stormy Daniels. She was reportedly paid a large sum to remain silent about her alleged affair with Trump. The ex-president himself had previously denied both the connection to Daniels and any unlawful actions on his part. Trump also said the persecution was purely political and related to his intention to run for president in 2024.
