MOSCOW, March 17 – RIA Novosti. Representatives of the ICC pre-trial chamber should be asked to read their decision on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “arrest” warrant to Chechen special forces, this will be the best way to react to such decisions, MP Oleg Morozov of the State Duma of United Russia, told RIA Novosti. The preliminary chamber of the ICC, whose jurisdiction Russia does not recognize, issued an arrest warrant on March 17 against Putin and the children’s ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova. “The best way to react is to invite representatives of the chamber to Russia and offer to read their decision to the Chechen special forces. The most objective and adequate reaction will follow,” Morozov said. Commenting on the ICC’s ‘initiative’, the Russian President’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, said that even raising the issue of the ICC’s decision on the ‘arrest’ of the President is unacceptable, Moscow does not recognize the jurisdiction of this court. He added that all his decisions are legally void.
