MOSCOW, April 12 – RIA Novosti. Among the provocateurs besieging the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra are many neo-pagans, said Vakhtang Kipshidze, deputy chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media of the Orthodox Church Russian. The Telegram Channel of the Canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) previously published a fragment of a video from Ukrainian Channel 5, filmed near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, in which a man who introduced himself as a “former pagan” made illegal calls – “burn the whole hospice” and “shoot into the forest without judgment” from the abbot of the monastery. After that, the founder of one of Russia’s largest pagan associations, the Union of Slavic Communities of the Slavic Native Faith, Vadim Kazakov, told RIA Novosti that such provocative behavior is unacceptable, whether in public or private life. “His Holiness the Patriarch has repeatedly called for prayers for the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Vladyka Onufry, for the monks who are expelled from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, for ordinary parishioners who are also under pressure. But we do not lose hope that the acts of the atheists, who do all this, that all these disorders will stop, and that all those who are guilty of them will not go unpunished. Their names will forever be written in the history of unholy anti-church persecution,” Kipshidze concluded. The Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) celebrates in 2023 the resurrection of Christ – Easter – April 16.
