WASHINGTON, April 1 – RIA Novosti. A military alliance between Moscow and Beijing would create risks for the United States, said Mark Milley, head of the Pentagon’s Joint Chiefs of Staff. According to Milley, Beijing and Moscow do not yet form a military alliance, but if an alliance were to emerge, it would be a challenge for the United States. “If a war of three superpowers starts, two of which will be against us, it will be a very big challenge,” Milli said. He stressed that Washington does not want a war of superpowers, and for this he adheres to the philosophy: “Peace through strength”. “The rhetoric in China and elsewhere, including the United States, can give the impression that we are on the brink of war with China. It could happen, an incident could happen that causes an uncontrolled escalation. So it’s not impossible. But at the moment, I wouldn’t do it in the ‘probably’ category,” Milley said. He said rhetoric itself can escalate the situation, and he takes the position of “speak softly, but have a bigger stick”. “In the context of China, to my knowledge, their military and others have concluded that war with the United States is inevitable. It’s dangerous,” Milley said. He attributed it to China’s commitment to Marxist ideology and its belief in historical predetermination. In contrast, the United States and the West grew up with the idea of free will, so they don’t see it that way. “I don’t think war is inevitable, but we have to be very pragmatic and careful,” he said, adding that US President Joe Biden had previously urged not to overstate the importance of Russia’s rapprochement. and China, bragging that America is much better at forging alliances in the modern world.

“We need a geopolitical approach that doesn’t bring China and Russia so close together that they form a military alliance against the United States. You don’t want that day to come,” Milley said during a virtual event organized by Defense One.
According to Milley, Beijing and Moscow do not yet form a military alliance, but if an alliance were to emerge, it would be a challenge for the United States. “If a war of three superpowers starts, two of which will be against us, it will be a very big challenge,” Milli said.
