Ukraine will soon not be accepted into the EU, quotes the Kurier newspaper, the former head of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker. “I am very annoyed by the recklessness of many politicians, including Western ones, who promise Ukraine a quick EU membership. I don’t see such an option,” he said. Juncker added that this country will only be able to join the EU after the end of the conflict and the implementation of all the necessary reforms, which will not happen soon. “At the same time, I consider it very likely that in the long term Ukraine will join the European Union after the current events,” the politician said. The former EC chief said he was in favor of contacts with Moscow and Beijing and called for signals of readiness for dialogue. Moscow has repeatedly indicated that it is ready for negotiations, but the kyiv regime has prohibited them at the legislative level. At the same time, the Kremlin stressed that the peace agreement should take into account the entry of new regions into Russia.
