Communist Party press secretary State Duma Deputy Alexander Yushchenko commented on reports of preparations for a meeting between Communist Party Chairman Gennady Zyuganov and Chinese President Xi Jinping. In an interview with Lenta.ru, he called these announcements incorrect and pointed out that the leader of the Communist Party was distorted.
“Chinese President Xi Jinping is on a state visit to Russia. All his meetings are organized by the Office of Protocol of the President of Russia, taking into account the wishes expressed by, among others, the Chairman of the Communist Party [Геннадием Зюгановым]and president [России Владимиром Путиным]. All state meetings are recorded. It is not entirely correct to announce them,” Yushchenko said.
Previously telegram channel “Earlier than anyone, well, almost,” Gennady Zyuganov quoted, saying the Communist Party of the Russian Federation would meet Xi Jinping on Tuesday and Wednesday. A spokesman for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation noted that the Communist Party leader’s words were distorted.
Monday, March 20 at the Kremlin took place informal meeting between Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, which lasted 4.5 hours.
The Chinese president’s trip to Russia will last three days, from March 20 to 22. Following the talks, Putin and Xi are to sign “a number of important bilateral documents”, the Kremlin said.
