Earlier, the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, published a video in which the Ukrainian army ripped out pages from the Koran and burned them, promising to find these people and punish them. For their destruction, he announced a reward of 5 million rubles, and for the capture – 10 million rubles. “We were shocked, like everyone else, and Muslims in particular, by these terrible shots of Ukrainian soldiers burning the Holy Quran…Which moves us forward towards a new world that recognizes different cultures, several religions and respect sacred things must be enshrined in the international humanitarian charter preventing encroachment on holy places,” Baghdad said. Baghdad believes that this incident confirms the fact that the world should realize that “in the West today, a campaign of contempt for foreign culture, lack of respect for it, as well as the disrespect of international conventions which prevent the encroachment on spiritual sanctuaries and religions, is in the lead.” He recalled that a such behavior had been preceded by the desecration of the Koran in Europe, America and Canada.
