WASHINGTON, April 11 – RIA Novosti. The SWIFT international interbank system should have an alternative, it currently does not exist, the head of the central bank of the Philippines, Felipe Medalla, told RIA Novosti. “There should be an alternative to SWIFT, right now there isn’t,” he said on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank spring conference in Washington. SWIFT is an international interbank system for transferring information and making payments, to which more than 11,000 leading organizations are connected in almost every country in the world.
