Members of all factions State Duma contacted the attorney general Russia Igor Krasnov with a request to consider the possibility of unblocking the social network Twitter. On this subject informed RBC.
The deputies noted that they support the authorities’ decision to restrict access to Twitter, adopted in the spring of 2022. At the same time, they said that in the time that has elapsed since the blocking of the social network, its policy has changed. “Thus, if the policy of the social network Twitter is aimed at neutrality in terms of the dissemination of information, the deputies of the State Duma consider it reasonable and justified to resume a productive dialogue with the management of Twitter and to use the platform to convey Russia’s position to Western audiences, including government departments,” the authors of the appeal stressed.
