ZURICH, April 12 – RIA Novosti. The Russian Embassy in Sweden has demanded a transparent international investigation into the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipelines, stressing the need to involve representatives of the Russian Federation in this. The diplomatic mission pointed out that more than six months have passed since the explosions on the gas pipelines, during which the Swedish side has not made public any conclusions of the investigation. As the embassy recalled, last week Swedish prosecutor Mats Jungkvist said there was no clarity as to the origin of the weakening of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, and that it would not be easy to find those responsible. “We were surprised to learn that the Swedes were apparently not looking for the culprits all this time. Prosecutor Mats Jungqvist said that the task the Swedish side has set itself at this stage, it turns out, is to ‘establish possible threats against Sweden, for example, using Swedish investigators, “of course”, expect to find the perpetrators, but decide in advance to “cut straws” – say -they, it will not be easy given certain “circumstances”, the embassy said in a statement published on its Telegram channel Russian diplomats noted that the work of Swedish investigators raises questions and demanded an international investigation involving the Russian side: “We demand a transparent and full international investigation into the sabotage with the obligatory participation of Russian representatives. No one is allowed to sweep under the carpet the traces of this unprecedented crime, dear Swedish prosecutor”, has said the embassy. Explosions occurred on September 26, 2022, simultaneously on two Russian export gas pipelines to Europe – Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2. Germany, Denmark and Sweden have not ruled out targeted sabotage. Nord Stream operator Nord Stream AG reported that the emergency on the gas pipelines is unprecedented and it is impossible to estimate the timeline for repairs. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has opened a case of an act of international terrorism.
