The highest inflation in annual terms was recorded in Lebanon (190%) and Argentina (102.5%). Zimbabwe, which a month ago was at the top of the rankings with inflation of 230%, fell to third place in February from 92.3%. The five “anti-rulers” were also Sudan with a price growth rate of 63.3% and Suriname with 58%. At the end of winter, the maximum values ​​​​of inflation in Europe were in Moldova (25.9%), Hungary (25.4%) and Ukraine (24.9%), and the lowest – in Switzerland and Liechtenstein at the level of 3.4%. In the Middle East, Lebanon, Turkey (55.2%) and Egypt (31.9%) were the leaders in price growth, while the most modest inflation was observed in Oman at 1.9%. Among Asian countries, prices increased the most compared to the same period last year in Sri Lanka (53.6%), Laos (41.3%) and Pakistan (31.5%). In February, China recorded the lowest inflation in the region and the world – just 1%. At the same time, when winter came out, there were no countries in deflation on the planet. In general, half of the countries of the world in February recorded price growth rates above 8.7%, including Russia with an indicator of 10.99%, which ranks 50th. Its neighbors in the ranking are Mauritius (11%) and Austria (10.9%). The study was conducted by RIA Novosti based on data from the national statistical services of 193 UN member countries. The final sample included 143 countries that had disclosed data for February to early April.
