The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case under the article on “forgery” about the Russian military against the journalist of the RusNews project Roman Ivanov.
According to the project’s telegram, the investigation is investigating three episodes of “fake news” spreading due to Ivanov’s posts on his Honest Royal telegram channel. One of them said that after the withdrawal of Russian troops from the kyiv region, the bodies of dead civilians were found. Another publication reported on the UN report on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, in the third, with reference to the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, it was said that Russia lacks missiles.
On the morning of April 11, Ivanov’s apartment in Korolev was raided. According to the journalist’s wife, Maria Nekrasova, the police broke down the door to the apartment. After the search, Ivanov was taken to the UK. The journalist’s wife pass in the case as a witness.
The court in Korolev will consider the issue of a restraint measure for Roman Ivanov on April 12.
In February, RusNews journalist Maria Ponomarenko from Barnaul was sentenced to six years in prison in a bogus case. She was also banned from journalism for five years.
