Residents of more than 30 regions of Russia have received subpoenas at the military registration and enlistment office to ‘clarify the data’

Military registration and enlistment offices in 35 regions of Russia have started sending out summonses to local residents, said Pavel Chikov, head of the international human rights group Agora.

In his telegram channel, the human rights activist quoted complete list regions where subpoenas are issued. Among them are the Moscow, St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Moscow, Belgorod and Murmansk regions, the Altai, Perm, Krasnoyarsk and Krasnodar regions.

Where Chikov got this information, he did not explain. “New Europe Newspaper” confirmed that summonses to appear are issued in Moscow. One of them with the obligation “to appear to clarify the documents of the military registration” was tried to be handed over to the correspondent of the publication.

Previously, the authorities of Russian regions declaredthat subpoenas are issued to “update military registration data” or invitations to military training. The Kremlin called it “standard practice”, noting that they have “no discussion” about a new wave of mobilization in Russia.

“Most of the issues are caused by military training agendas, which can only take place after a presidential decree. There was no such decree, at least not published, ”notes Chikov. According to him estimatedwhen there is no question of a second wave of mobilization.

The mobilization in Russia began at the end of September 2022 and, according to the Russian authorities, ended at the end of October. However, Vladimir Putin has not yet signed a decree on its completion. Authorities Many times differently explainwhy the mobilization decree continues to apply.

In February, the Faridaily project “Explanatory note” informedthat the Russian authorities have prepared a test version of the database, which will contain detailed information on persons liable for military service. The created base will make it possible to quickly send the required number of citizens to the front, to close the state border to those fleeing conscription or to find draft dodgers, the project notes. According to a source of the explanatory note in one of the Moscow police stations, the mobilization showed that the data of the military registration and enlistment offices are relevant only to a third party.
