The State Duma immediately adopts in the second and third readings a set of amendments that radically complicate the “avoidance” of military service. According to the text of the amendments, a digital register of persons liable to military service will be created in Russia, and convocations to the army can be delivered not in person, but in electronic form – on the portal of state services – and by recorded post. The “deviators” will be deprived of their rights: they will not be able to travel abroad, drive a car, buy real estate and take out loans.
Dmitry Peskov speakthat amendments are needed to “improve the military registration system”. When asked if electronic summons would be sent in the event of a second wave of mobilization, he replied: “There is no second wave”.
