The founder of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, wrote a letter to French President Emmanuel Macron with a request for protection for the French citizen, the son of the head of the Russian House in the Central African Republic who was blown up by terrorists, the corresponding letter from Prigozhin was published in the telegram channel of its press service. “Dear Mr. President! …Dmitry Syty’s son is a French citizen and lives in France. I ask you to instruct Dmitry’s son to be worthy of protection from the terrorists who attempted to assassinate Dmitry Syty” , indicates the letter. Furthermore, Prigozhin added in a letter that Syty, who works in the Central African Republic as the director of Russia House, has made a lot of efforts to fight terrorism in Africa. On December 16, 2022, he was assassinated. “The attackers placed an explosive device in a package containing threats to kill his son,” Prigozhin wrote. In December 2022, the head of the Russian House, Dmitry Syty, was hospitalized in Bangui after an assassination attempt: a package addressed to him exploded. Central African Police Chief Bienvenyu Zokue said Syty had previously contacted local police because of threats. A senior local police source told RIA Novosti that Central African Republic police are investigating how DHL delivered a package containing an explosive device to Syty.
