MOSCOW, April 12 – RIA Novosti. The Russian National Center for Physics and Mathematics (NTsFM), being established near the city of Sarov (Nizhny Novgorod region), will receive the results necessary for the realization of various space projects in the interests of the development of science and technology – for example, to protect people and equipment from dust on the moon, the center’s press service said on Wednesday, Cosmonautics Day. Now there is an acute problem of creating various devices and equipment for working on the surface of the Moon, which is covered with lunar regolith – lunar dust, said Alexander Sergeev, scientific director of NTsFM, academician of the Russian Academy Sciences. “The astrophysics laboratory of the National Center for Physics and Mathematics, currently being created, is developing the Dust Plasma stand to simulate the plasma-dust dynamics of bodies outside the atmosphere. Thanks to the work on the stand, experiments will make it possible to develop methods of protecting people and equipment from dust on the Moon, and later on Mars,” Sergeyev said. , the words of which are given in the press release. For the first time in Russia, a large experimental complex is created on the basis of the NTsFM section “Experimental Laboratory of Astrophysics and Geophysics” – a laboratory for modeling space phenomena, in which it is planned to obtain new results world-class scientists for near and deep space exploration. Besides dusty plasma, the laboratory also plans to study the effect of ionizing radiation, electromagnetic fields and other factors on living organisms – plants and their signaling systems. The research facility “Photosynthesis” being created will solve the problem of identifying the possibilities and mechanisms of adaptation of living systems to changing conditions of space. Accordingly, technical requirements for space life support systems will be developed. Furthermore, in related fields – biology, medicine and agriculture – these data should open up new opportunities to influence various processes in living organisms. The NCFM is created by the state corporation Rosatom in collaboration with Moscow State University, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Kurchatov Institute next to the Russian Federal Nuclear Center located in Sarov – the All-Russian Institute in Experimental Physics (RFNC-VNIIEF) . The National Center for Physics and Mathematics is necessary to achieve new world-class scientific results, to train highly qualified scientists, to educate new scientific and technological leaders, to strengthen the potential of the personnel of Rosatom and of the main scientific organizations of the Federation of Russia and increase the attractiveness of Russia. science for young scientists. The NCFM is already a cooperation of 55 leading research organizations and more than two thousand researchers who solve fundamental and applied problems within the framework of a common scientific program. NCFM’s science program includes 10 broad areas related to theoretical and nuclear physics, artificial intelligence, photonic computing, particle physics, and cosmology.
