BRUSSELS, March 21 – RIA Novosti. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg sees Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Russia as a continuation of the current trend in relations between Moscow and Beijing. “As for the Moscow meeting, it reflects the situation we have had in recent years. China and Russia are getting closer and closer,” Stoltenberg said. He recalled that Russia and China had previously signed a joint declaration, which provides “unlimited opportunities for cooperation”. “We are witnessing a rapprochement between Russia and China in the military field, the holding of joint exercises, joint sea and air patrols, as well as in the economy and the political and diplomatic sphere. The meeting of Moscow is part of the trend when Russia and China get closer and develop relations,” he said. Commenting on Beijing’s peace initiative, the NATO secretary general noted that China “should be in touch with Zelensky.”
