Russian airlines will be able to maintain the airworthiness of passenger aircraft operated for about 10 years. This lifetime of shirts was called by the chef Ministry of transportation and CEO Aeroflot Vitaly Saveliev during a meeting of the extended committee State Duma on transport, written Interfax.
“The average age of the domestic and imported aircraft fleet we have in stock is 15 years. This means that we will ensure continued airworthiness for another 10 years and give our Ministry of Industry and Trade it’s time to develop new ultra-modern models,” Savelyev said.
According to the minister, Russia 1297 aircraft are currently in service, of which 1167 are passenger aircraft. The Aeroflot boss noted that no airliners have been “cannibalized”, all airliners are operating in normal mode and are supplied with spare parts.
“I want to emphasize that these are normal and certified spare parts, this was not done on the knee by someone. Yes, there is complex logistics, there are parallel imports – nevertheless, everything works,” Saveliev assured.
Formerly Savelyev saidWhat Russian government allocated about 300 billion rubles from the budget for the purchase of aircraft from foreign donors. According to him, Aeroflot has already purchased 10 long-haul aircraft with these funds.
