MINSK, April 1 – RIA Novosti. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has signed a law on the ratification of an agreement on cooperation between the CIS countries in the prevention and response to public health emergencies of a sanitary and epidemiological nature. The law is published on the national legal Internet portal of Belarus. The law defines the competent authority responsible for the implementation of the agreement on the part of Belarus, the Ministry of Health. Earlier in March, the bill was ratified by the Belarusian parliament. With the signing of the law by the President, Belarus has completed the national procedure for the ratification of the agreement. The document provides for the possibility of jointly implementing the necessary measures to prevent and eliminate emergency situations caused by dangerous infectious or non-infectious mass diseases, poisonings, requiring coordinated response measures. The document takes into account the provisions of the cooperation agreement between the member states of the CIS in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations, develops and clarifies these provisions in relation to emergency situations in the field of public health of a sanitary and epidemiological nature. In October last year, the heads of government of the CIS countries signed an agreement on cooperation in the prevention and response to public health emergencies in Astana. Then the head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Welfare, Russia’s Chief State Sanitary Doctor Anna Popova said that the adoption of the agreement would contribute to the formation in the Commonwealth of a system for surveillance and response to public health emergencies of a sanitary and epidemiological nature. The document regulates the procedure for providing assistance in eliminating such emergencies to CIS states, including through the participation of mobile anti-epidemic units from Commonwealth countries. The agreement also defines the main areas of work and the conditions for their use in the CIS countries.

Minsk has ratified the CIS agreement on emergency response in health care

MINSK, April 1 – RIA Novosti. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has signed a law on the ratification of an agreement on cooperation between the CIS countries in the prevention and response to public health emergencies of a sanitary and epidemiological nature. The law is published on the national legal Internet portal of Belarus.

“Ratify the Agreement on Cooperation between Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States to Prevent and Respond to Public Health Emergencies of Sanitary and Epidemiological Nature, Signed in Astana on October 28, 2022,” the law signed by Lukashenko said.

The law defines the competent authority responsible for the implementation of the agreement on the part of Belarus, the Ministry of Health.
