MOSCOW, March 15 – RIA Novosti. Western partners handed over 117,575 modern weapons to Kyiv last year, the Ukrainian Military Media Center reported on Wednesday. “117,575 units of modern weapons and means of destruction – approximately the Armed Forces of Ukraine received from international partners over the past year,” the center said on a Telegram channel. It is noteworthy that the Ukrainian army “extremely quickly masters new weapons”, effectively and inventively using them on the battlefield. This, in turn, encourages international partners to reconsider their positions on supplying Ukraine with even more modern and technological types of weapons. Russia has already sent a note to NATO countries because of the supply of arms to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any shipment containing weapons destined for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. The Russian Federation’s Foreign Ministry said NATO countries were “playing with fire” by supplying arms to Ukraine. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect. Lavrov said that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, “including not only the supply of weapons, but also the training of personnel…in the territory of Great Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries”. Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been victims of intimidation and genocide by the kyiv regime for eight years.” For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out “the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine”, to bring to justice all the war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in the Donbass.
