MOSCOW, March 26 – RIA Novosti. Britain’s Prince Andrew wants to write an autobiography to try to repair his reputation, the Sun newspaper reported, citing sources. According to the publication, sources dubbed Prince Andrew’s autobiography “Spare 2.0” because they started talking about it after Prince Harry’s “Spare” memoir “shook the Royal Family”. “Prince Andrew wants to write an explosive and candid autobiography of royal life, dubbed ‘Spare 2.0’, in an attempt to mend his shattered reputation,” the publication said, citing sources. According to a source at the newspaper, everyone close to Prince Andrew tells him it’s a “dumb idea” and that he should forget about it. Officially, Prince Harry’s autobiography, co-written by American writer John Joseph Moringer, appeared on the shelves of foreign bookstores on January 10, 2023. Even before official publication, “Spare” received a scandalous reputation due to revelations from Prince Harry, in particular those relating to the British royal family. In the book, the Duke of Sussex, who calls himself an underage member of the family – ‘reserve’ – talks in detail about the details of his personal life, how he killed 25 people while ‘he was serving in Afghanistan, as well as family disputes. Britain’s Prince Andrew rose to fame after being accused of rape by human rights activist Virginia Giuffre. She claimed the Duke of York raped her in London when she was 17. Media reported in March last year that Prince Andrew had paid compensation to Giuffre and the trial was halted, but the prince himself pleaded not guilty. It was noted that the compensation could reach £12 million. This happened after Andrew and Giuffre reached a pre-trial settlement. Amid the outrage over the allegations and the ensuing trial, Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Andrew had been stripped of honorary military ranks and royal patronages.
