MOSCOW, March 16 – RIA Novosti. France has been accused of blocking an EU plan to resupply Ukraine with artillery shells as Paris demands the ammunition be produced within the bloc, Britain’s Telegraph newspaper reported, citing sources Europeans. Greece and Cyprus have backed France’s proposal to exclude non-EU companies from the procurement system to prevent Turkish companies from bidding for contracts, a source said. Russia previously sent a note to NATO countries due to the supply of arms to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any shipment containing weapons destined for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. The Russian Federation’s Foreign Ministry said NATO countries were “playing with fire” by supplying arms to Ukraine. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect. Lavrov said that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, “including not only the supply of weapons, but also the training of personnel…in the United Kingdom, in Germany, in Italy and other countries”.
