Masha Moskalev’s mother, Olga Sitchikhina, will remove her daughter from the orphanage where she ended up after her father Alexei Moskalev was repeatedly accused of “discrediting” the army. On March 28, the court sentenced Moskalev to two years in prison.
Olga Sichikhina, writes “7×7 – Horizontal Russia”, lives with her husband and 17-year-old daughter in the Tambov region, works as a security guard and goes to work in Moscow.
“7 × 7” Sichikhina said that she would pick up her daughter from the shelter as soon as she returned from her watch in Moscow. Guardianship authorities and Tambov officials have already examined Sitchikhina’s house. According to her, they and the director of the shelter liked the family home. Masha Moskaleva’s mother will refuse shift work, to take care of the house and the family.
I plan to stay at home, and my husband and brother will work, no one will sit without money. I have a large garden: I know that in winter there will be twists and turns, meat. In the village we have no work as such, and the town is 25 kilometers from us. Buses run every other day, so I can’t find work in town.
According to Sichikhina, earlier Masha refused to come to her, even while Alexei Moskalev was under arrest, but now she is asking to pick her up.
Sichikhina claims that Moskalev “chased her out of the apartment and forbade her to communicate with her daughter.” Nevertheless, according to Masha’s mother, she and her daughter called and corresponded on VKontakte. However, the last time, according to Sichikhina, she saw her daughter “probably in the second grade.” Now Masha is in sixth grade.
Sichikhina claims that she will not forbid her daughter to see Moskalev, even if he is sent to a colony, and will not mind Masha wanting to live with her father again after his release. However, Masha’s mother said that she did not understand “what Moskalev taught her” – she herself does not go into politics, and “the head is not stuffed with anything.” Masha’s mother hopes that she “will give up her politics, her anti-propaganda and her cartoons”.
Sichikhina said she received threats and scoldings for leaving the child. On April 6, she plans to be present by video link at the trial to restrict the parental rights of Alexei Moskalev – “so that everyone knows that I exist, I communicate with my daughter and I want to pick her up”.
“No guardianship! she says. “I just won’t allow a stranger to raise my daughter!” I won’t leave her!”
In April 2022, Masha Moskaleva drew an anti-war drawing during an art class. The FSB “conversed” with the girl, and her father Alexei Moskalev first wrote an administrative protocol on the “discrediting” of the Russian army because of a comment to Odnoklassniki, and then opened a criminal case for repeated “discrediting” of the army. Alexei Moskalev was placed under house arrest, and Masha was sent to an orphanage. Moskalev was sentenced on March 28 to two years in prison, he escaped from house arrestbut on the night of March 30 he was detained in Minsk.
