MOSCOW, March 30 – RIA Novosti. Marvel Entertainment president Isaac Perlmutter, 80, has been fired from his post as part of a cost-cutting campaign. He was informed of the decision by Disney management by telephone. The Marvel Entertainment division is small and operates separately from Marvel Studios. It was considered redundant. Now it will enter the biggest departments of Disney. The fact that Perlmutter won’t stay with the company has recently come up on the sidelines. The former Marvel Entertainment boss has promoted his friend Nelson Peltz to the board. However, his candidacy was not approved. After restructuring announcements, cost-cutting plans and a possible restoration of dividends, Peltz himself dropped the idea of joining the board. Marvel Entertainment President Dan Buckley remained with the company. He will report to Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios. On March 27, Disney began the process of laying off seven thousand employees. This represents four percent of the company’s total number of employees worldwide. Thus, the company is trying to cut costs by 5.5 billion dollars. Earlier, the director of the film “On the Eve” Alisa Erokhina said that she did not know about the tape’s participation in the festival français Europe around Europe and its victory within it.
