BELGRADE, March 19 – RIA Novosti. The issue of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo joining international organizations was not discussed and clarified during the talks in North Macedonia, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said. Vučić’s talks with Kosovo’s self-proclaimed Prime Minister Albin Kurti, with the participation of EU Foreign Minister Josef Borrell and Special Representative for Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak, continued behind closed doors for 12 hours in Ohrid (North Macedonia). The parties discussed a plan for implementing the Euro-American settlement proposal in Kosovo. “No, this (Pristina’s membership in international organizations – editor’s note) has not been defined, and it is better that I do not talk about it. Because this element is not in the implementation plan . And we did not specify it, for the reasons that I spoke about earlier, “said the President of Serbia in response to a question from journalists. He also said that the mandatory indication in documents of the need for compliance with all agreements reached with the constitution of self-proclaimed Kosovo was rejected by him. On Saturday evening Vučić announced that he “will not sign anything in Ohrid”. Earlier he had indicated that the EU had not yet delivered to Belgrade its plan for the implementation of the settlement in Kosovo, in accordance with the Euro-American proposal. In Belgrade, the right-wing patriotic opposition parties organized mass actions against the proposal of the EU on Friday evening with a procession through the city center and a rally demanding the resignation of the president and the government. Borrell previously published the full text of the EU proposal, backed by the US, with clauses on mutual recognition of state documents and symbols, as well as Belgrade’s refusal to prevent Pristina from joining international organizations . Lajcak said Wednesday evening that the proposal has been accepted by the parties and published, it remains to approve the program for its “full implementation”. He added that the EU and US leaders are also insisting on the formation by the Kosovo Albanian authorities of the Community of Serb communities with the rights of autonomy in the province in accordance with the Brussels agreement of 2013. US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Gabriel Escobar indicated last Thursday that he did not expect the document to be signed during the upcoming March 18 negotiations in North Macedonia on the settlement of relations between Belgrade and Pristina. The prime minister of the self-declared republic of Kosovo said he was ready to approve the program for implementing the Euro-American settlement plan at the upcoming March 18 meeting with the Serbian president in Ohrid. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on March 11 that he would not sign a surrender, support the self-declared republic of Kosovo’s UN membership and recognize its independence.
