Khachanov said it wouldn’t be easy for him to play against Medvedev at the ATP tournament in Miami
Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov spoke about the upcoming match against his compatriot Daniel Medvedev at the ATP Masters 1000 series tournament in Miami (UNITED STATES). His words are quoted in to place Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
“We grew up together and every time I play against Daniil or Andrey [Рублева], it’s not easy, because we are good friends. But on the court we are rivals,” the tennis player said. Khachanov noted that Medvedev has already beaten him, so he will try to approach the next match differently.
The semi-final match of the tournament between the Russians will take place on March 31. In the quarter-final matches Khachanov turned out to be stronger Argentine Francois Cerundolo with the score 6:3, 6:2, and Medvedev beat American Christopher Eubanks (6:3, 7:5).
Medvedev ranks fifth in the ATP rankings and is the first racquet Russia. Khachanov is on the 16th line of the ATP list.
