Director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation Ivan Zhdanov believes that the FSB of Russia announced the involvement of the foundation in St. Petersburg, in which the “military commander” Vladlen Tatarsky died in order to increase the prison sentence of the politician Alexei Navalny.
“They need terrorism now to give Navalny a longer term. I think it will be kind of a separate episode from his case. The FBK is recognized as a terrorist organization, which was also predictable,” Zhdanov said in a telegram channel.
Earlier, the FSB of Russia, commenting on the case of the explosion in St. Petersburg, declaredthat after the epidemic in Ukraine, “the leaders of the extremist organization Anti-Corruption Fund” Ivan Zhdanov and Leonid Volkov have repeatedly stated that in Russia it is necessary to carry out “subversive activities … by all available means”. “As a result, on April 2, Darya Trepova committed a terrorist act,” declared at the FSB.
According to Ivan Zhdanov, the FSB version is untenable. “From the video, it’s clear that the girl didn’t know there was a bomb. How could she ‘commit a terrorist act on call’ without knowing there was a bomb? Zhdanov wrote.
Alexei Navalny has been in detention since January 2021. He is serving a sentence in penal colony No. 6 in the Vladimir region. In March 2022, Navalny sentenced at age nine in a strict regime colony. In October it became known that against the politician excited a new case on the propaganda of terrorism and extremism, the financing of extremist activities and the rehabilitation of Nazism.
