The Bundeswehr plans to purchase additional equipment to protect against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). On this subject informed Tagesspiegel.
The newspaper’s sources in security circles said that in recent months more German barracks, including in places where Ukrainian officers are trained to work with weapons NATOsuspicious drones have been spotted.
According to a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense Germany, the ministry does not comment on “security incidents”. Currently, the German armed forces use HP-47 equipment to protect against drones.
As the Bundeswehr Territorial Command stated, “for military security reasons”, exact data on the number of UAV signal suppression equipment and their locations were not disclosed.
Previously became knownthat the Bundeswehr has spent all the budgetary funds allocated for the purchase of parts for military equipment in 2023. According to Business Insider, the budget of the Bundeswehr this year amounted to 51 billion euros, of which almost five billion euros were allocated to the purchase of spare parts for military equipment. As specified, the money was spent on major equipment, uniforms and ammunition.
