WASHINGTON, April 11 – RIA Novosti. The investigation into the leak of classified Pentagon documents could take months as the United States fears too many people have access to classified information, CNN reports, citing a source. It is noted that the investigation into the flight to the United States “begins to take shape”. “The interagency investigation is being led by the Pentagon’s Intelligence and Security Administration…it could take months,” the channel’s material reads. The Pentagon does not yet intend to focus on the source of the leak, but will review how the agency distributes classified documents and whether it should change the list of those who have access to them on a daily basis, the source told CNN. “Too many people have access to very sensitive information,” an unnamed US official said, adding that “thousands” of people had seen it before the data came online. Earlier, the media wrote that the Pentagon was investigating a leak on the social network of documents describing the state of Ukrainian troops and the plans of the United States and NATO to reinforce them. The New York Times noted that the documents, dated early March, would be distributed on “Russian pro-government telegraph channels”. It has been alleged that over 100 documents could end up on the internet, the damage caused by what happened is believed to be significant. The Pentagon told RIA Novosti it was studying the information about the leak. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, responding to a question about the leak, said the Russian Federation had no doubts that the United States and NATO were directly or indirectly involved in the conflict.
