In the kyiv-controlled part of the Kherson region, two people died from an outbreak of bird flu
In control Ukraine part of Kherson region, 18 people were hospitalized after being infected with bird flu, writes CASS with reference to an emergency services representative.
An outbreak of infectious disease was detected in a poultry farm in the village of Velikaya Aleksandrovka Kherson region. Two of the hospitalized patients died. Presumably, ducks living on the Kakhovka Reservoir became carriers of the virus.
“From our sources among local residents, it was learned that there was an outbreak of bird flu in the poultry farm. The disease is very difficult, ”explained the representative of the emergency services.
Earlier in March, an epidemiologist World Health Organization (WHO) Richard Peabody warned the world about the risk of an avian flu pandemic due to the virus acquiring the ability to spread between people. Peabody noted that the scientific community monitors viruses and develops vaccines in case they are needed.
