MOSCOW, March 19 – RIA Novosti. Canada has sent armored recovery vehicles designed for the maintenance of Leopard 2 tanks to kyiv, Ukrainian troops announced on Sunday. On Saturday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an evening speech that following this week’s meeting in the Ramstein format, the Ukrainian side will receive new military assistance from NATO countries and their allies. “Canada sent Bergepanzer 3 armored recovery vehicles to Ukraine. They are designed to service Ukrainian Leopard 2 tanks,” the Telegram channel said in a message. Earlier, the Globe and Mail newspaper, quoting an official, reported that Canada may supply Ukraine with up to five Leopard 2 tanks. Russia previously sent a note to NATO countries due to the supply arms to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any shipment containing weapons destined for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. The Russian Federation’s Foreign Ministry said NATO countries were “playing with fire” by supplying arms to Ukraine. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect.
