A “serious” cat named Filya was saved from death by employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Birobidjan, in the Jewish Autonomous Region (JAO), reports the regional headquarters. “This serious comrade was helped by rescuers in Birobidzhan. Elderly people called the Russian Emergency Ministry, because their cat Filya was stuck in a tree at the height of the second floor, hanging from a forked branch. The situation was complicated by electric wires passing nearby,” the employees of the central office said. According to the local department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fighters reached Fili on a three-knee ladder and cut the branch at which the animal was hanging, risking suffocation.” The owners pulled down the canopy and caught the falling animal.
