Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor for affordable smartphones

The chip is based on four-nanometer process technology – the company noted that it offers comparable performance to flagship Snapdragon eighth-series processors. The device has a Qualcomm Kryo processor, which has a maximum frequency of 2910 megahertz, and a Qualcomm Adreno graphics accelerator, which, compared to its predecessor, has twice the performance. The energy efficiency of the chip is improved by 13%.
Designed for affordable smartphones, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 has received support for Auto Variable Rate Shading, Volumetric Rendering and Snapdragon Sound technologies. The powerful chip also supports 200 megapixel cameras and 4K video recording.
The company noted that using the Snapdragon X62 5G modem, data download speeds can reach 4.4 gigabits per second. The processor should also provide faster Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity.
IN Qualcomm reported that the new processor will appear in smartphones, the first of which will be announced before the end of March. It is specified that the chip will be used in devices costing 400-600 dollars or about 30-45 thousand rubles.
