Update. In the Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee confirmedthat a criminal case was opened against Bryukhanov for “false”.

According to the agencies, the case was opened because of a YouTube video by Bryukhanova, in which she spoke about the involvement of the Russian military in the deaths of civilians in Bucha. The investigation considered this information “knowingly false”. RBC says the video was posted on December 23.

Bryukhanov is not in Russia. In a conversation with “Rain”, she declaredthat he knows nothing about the criminal case. According to her, on April 1, she received an electronic certificate of absence of criminal record, which said nothing about the case against her.

Anastasia Bryukhanov worked for the City Projects Foundation of Ilya Varlamov and Maxim Katz. In 2016, she was elected as a city deputy from the Moscow district of Shchukino.

In 2021, Bryukhanov took part in the State Duma elections as an independent candidate. His candidacy was supported by Smart Voting. Bryukhanov was leading in his single-mandate constituency after voting in person and tallying 99.5% of protocols. But after the electronic voting results were added to it, she lost to Just Russia candidate Galina Khovanskaya. Bryukhanov declared about the stuffing in the electronic vote and claimed that Khovanskaya’s result was overstated by 19,000 votes.
