HELSINKI, March 18 – RIA Novosti. Five Finnish mercenaries were injured in Ukraine, according to Finland’s largest newspaper Helsingin sanomat. “On Friday, a group of Finnish fighters was due to return from a mission in southern Ukraine to the base and were injured. Five out of eight Finns were injured. Three Finns are still being treated in hospital, two are discharged after review,” the report said. It is stated that the Finns received shrapnel, concussions and sprains when they took cover. The exact location of the incident, as well as the location of the injured, is currently undisclosed. In November 2022, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that more than 8,000 mercenaries from more than 60 countries arrived in Ukraine, the largest groups from Poland, the United States, the Canada, Romania and Great Britain, despite the fact that in many countries mercenarism is prohibited by law and prosecuted
