While landing in the Nigerian capital of Niamey, aboard a Bundeswehr plane carrying German Defense and Development Ministers Boris Pistorius and Svenja Schulze, an emergency slide tripped by mistake, reports CCA. The ministers arrived on an official visit to Niger on Wednesday to express their support for the West African state ahead of the withdrawal of German troops from the Sahel region. According to the agency, when landing in the Nigerian capital Niamey, the emergency slide operated by mistake on the plane. On board were Pistorius and Schulze. “The German Air Force Airbus that brought them to Niger can still be used despite the incident,” the agency wrote, citing a German Defense Ministry spokesperson.
