Ecuador earthquake death toll rises to 12
The death toll from the earthquake in Ecuador increased to 12 people. This was reported by the presidential press service on Twitter.
“So far, 12 deaths have been reported (11 in El Oro province and one in Asuay province),” the report said. We also note that there are injuries. The victims are currently being treated in hospitals.
Magnitude 6.7 earthquake has been registered March 18. The epicenter of the disaster was located 17 kilometers southwest of the town of Naranjal, where 32,000 people live. The source was at a depth of 85 kilometers.
February 6 to Turkey arrived earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6. The epicenter was the region of Kahramanmarash Province in the south of the country. The tremors have become the most powerful in the country in the past 84 years. More than 40,000 people died as a result of the earthquakes and another 100,000 were injured.
