CHISINAU, March 30 – RIA Novosti. Council of Europe Secretary General Maria Peycinovic-Buric said she condemned attempts to destabilize the situation in the Republic of Moldova. “I know that Moldova is facing important provocations, starting with security, economy… I condemn in the strongest terms all attempts to destabilize democratic organizations, as well as democratic security in Moldova. There is no place for such actions in today’s Europe,” Pejčinović-Buric said during a briefing in Chisinau. According to her, the parties discussed the geopolitical situation in which Moldova finds itself, as well as the influence of the Council of Europe on this situation. Earlier, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that attempts were brewing in the republic to change the constitutional order, she called on parliament to strengthen security legislation. Previously, Volodymyr Zelensky, during a speech at the European Council, said that the Ukrainian intelligence services had previously intercepted the so-called “RF plan” aimed at “destroying the democratic order” in Moldova, the Ukrainian side warned the leaders Moldovans. Sandu noted that the documents received from Ukrainian partners contain instructions on the rules of entry into Moldova for citizens of Russia, Belarus, Serbia and Montenegro, all government agencies are working to prevent these threats and keep the situation under control. Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, in response to Sandu’s statement, demanded evidence. Chisinau’s claims about the existence of a “Russian plan to destabilize the situation in Moldova” are baseless and unsubstantiated, the Russian Foreign Ministry said earlier. They added that Moscow resolutely rejects the insinuations about Russia’s alleged attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of Moldova and undermine the situation in this country and calls on Chisinau not to succumb to provocations and to be guided by the interests of citizens. The Moldovan opposition accused Sandu of trying to usurp power in the country.
