Cambodian PM calls ICC arrest warrant for Putin a shocking political event
Prime Minister Cambodia Hun Sen said that the issuance of the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against the President of Russia Vladimir Poutine is a “shocking political event”. This is reported TASS.
According to the politician, the court’s charges against the Russian leader will have “large-scale geopolitical consequences in Europe and around the world”.
He noted that such a move by the ICC “will add fuel to the flames of the conflict by Ukraine» before visiting Moscow president PRC Xi Jinping. Hun Sen wondered how the Russian president could negotiate peace when the other side threatened him with arrest.
Furthermore, the Cambodian Prime Minister expressed the view that the decision of the ICC to “arrest” the leader of a nuclear power could provoke a nuclear war.
Former Minister of Justice Germany Marco Bushman promised arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin if he visits Germany. Bushman noted that he would comply with ICC demands for Putin’s “arrest” if “his foot sets foot on German territory.”
