DONETSK, March 18 – RIA Novosti. A resident of a damaged private house in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk told RIA Novosti about the consequences of the Ukrainian shelling. Donetsk Mayor Aleksey Kulemzin said Friday night that two civilians – men born in 1944 and 1962 – died as a result of Ukrainian troops shelling the city’s Petrovsky district. He also reported on the casualties. Tatyana, a local resident, told RIA Novosti that she was not home when the shelling took place, but her elderly mother and daughter with a friend were there. “My daughter called – crying, screaming, we, she said, the fence was torn down, the windows flew away, the house is terrible. <...> I’m scared – come home quickly. God thank you everyone is alive,” she said. According to her, those at home were severely deafened, her daughter’s friend was cut in the face, likely with glasses, and her daughter had blood behind the ear. She added that the shelling had become frequent – and at that moment there was the sound of a flying projectile. Sitting and listening a little, Tatyana, instructed by the experience, calmly said: “He flew over.” The Petrovsky district of Donetsk is located on the western outskirts of the administrative center of the DPR, it is the farthest part of the city from the center. Since 2014, when the DPR declared independence from Kiev, this area, from the line of contact outside the town of Marinka, was regularly bombarded by Ukrainian security forces.
