MOSCOW, March 31 – RIA Novosti. One of Russia’s oldest tour operators, Solvex, has announced the cessation of its activities, one of the reasons being the inability to repay debt to customers after the bankruptcy of tour operator Mouzenidis, said the Russian Union of l travel industry (PCT) in a statement. “LLC” Solvex Travel Agency “is stopping the activities of tour operators,” the PCT said. According to the CEO of the company, Dimitar Tsonev, quoted in the message, this is a forced decision: the company cannot continue to work due to the current international situation. “Over the past three years since the beginning of the pandemic, we have managed to provide an equivalent tourist product to customers in the amount of more than 12 million rubles, as well as repay more than five million rubles of debt on failed home runs,” says Tsonev. “Without the geopolitical situation, by the end of 2022 we could have fulfilled our obligations to tourists for an additional 7.5 million rubles during trips to Bulgaria, as well as 800,000 rubles in Greece, this debt arose after the bankruptcy of the tour operator Mouzenidis. But on February 2, 2023, the Ministry of Economic Development announced that there would be no subsidies and postponement of reimbursement for circuits not carried out. Under these conditions, it is inadvisable to carry out tour operator business in outbound destinations, he explained. The PCT noted that before the pandemic, the company was mainly engaged in European countries – Bulgaria, Greece, Finland and others.
